Five things to do this half term in Aviemore
Landmark Forest Adventure Park
Carrbridge
With lots of new additions, the park is a great day out. High ropes, Networx, butterfly house, climbing wall, water slides and the bamboozeleum are just some of the fun things on offer. But be quick - the summer season ends soon and some activities shut for the winter.
Kincraig
The park is home to over 200 animals, including polar bears, snow leopards, tigers and wildcat many of which you can visit on foot. You can also take a drive around the nature reserve in your car.
Explore the Caledonian pine forest, keeping a watchful eye out for the local red squirrels. There's a visitor centre with a café where you can watch the birds on the feeders too. There are regular talks and you might even see an osprey on the nest.
The centre closes at the end of October for the winter.
Fort George is a little further from Aviemore but worth a visit if you like historic sites. Tour the fort and take a walk around the ramparts. You might even spot a dolphin!
Step back in time and see how people in the highlands used to live. There are over 35 historical buildings onsite for you to explore, as well as a cafe, sweet shop and park.
