There are many places nearby for a lovely stroll including Loch an Eilein which I have mentioned before, but I just wanted to give a shout out to a simple walk that you can access from our front door.
The Aviemore Orbital skirts the edges of Aviemore, taking you through some lovely areas of woodland. You can walk the whole loop or just dip in and out where you fancy. More details can be found on the Walkhighlands website.
If you turn left out of The Shelter Stone and head north, you will spot a little track further up the road on your left. If you take this path, you will reach a small wooden bridge which crosses the burn into the woods. Here there are many little tracks to follow, perfect for little explorers. Not forgetting a game of pooh sticks along the way. If you head south from here you can come back to the main road easily, or northwards you can cross the main road and head into the woods, looping south again along the golf course.
Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife and flora along the way. You can usually spot some interesting fungi and pretty flowers.
