The Ice is Back for Summer

Set in a large marquee, the rink is open most days (check opening times here), and is suitable for kids of all ages. They have bob-skates available for little ones and you can hire skating aids to help you stay steady on the ice if needed, although it doesn't take long to get your ice-legs.

The rink is located in the Macdonald Aviemore Resort, just a ten minute walk from The Shelter Stone (there's plenty of parking if you'd prefer to drive along). We'd advise booking in advance online to ensure you get the session you'd like before heading along, and this gets you a small discount too. Win, win. The cost includes skate hire so no need to take your own. Those not skating can grab a hot drink at the bar.

They also host Ice Discos, with louder music and disco lights which are even under the ice! Some sessions even have a snow machine.

Each session lasts an hour and skate hire is included in the session cost. We’d recommend leaving bags at home or in the car as you aren’t permitted to skate with them. It’s also advisable to wear gloves, although we tend to discard our coats quite quickly. Further details can be found here.
